In the mood for a great baked potato while sitting around the ole camp fire?  Here is a quick and easy way to make them.  Remove the entire top of a pop can.  Smear the whole potato with butter (and any other seasoning you like).  Slip the raw potato into the pop can, cover top with aluminum foil and place the can onto the hot coals of your campfire. They bake in the can just as  in the oven.

Fried Peas or Beans. Why not try a tasty new idea as most people have not heard of it. After frying chops or rashers, "a thin slice of fried or broiled bacon", on the pan, fry a little onion and then throw in a tin of beans or a tin of peas, strain the peas first and fry for 3 to 4 min. It is very tasty and you will wonder why you didn't try it before. So go on try it its really nice and tasty.

Sweet and Hot Onion Rings:
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon ground red pepper
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups club soda
Vegetable oil for frying
2 large sweet yellow onions, cut into 3/8 inch thick slices and separated into rings

In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, ground red pepper, and salt; whisk in the club soda. In a large saucepan, heat 2 inches of oil over medium heat until hot but not smoking. Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl. Fry a few rings at a time for 5 to 6 minutes, or until golden. Drain on a paper towel lined platter before serving.
